The Skilled – Independent Visa (subclass 189) is the most popular skilled migration
category and is geared to skilled workers who are in high demand and do not require a
state or family sponsor.
The Skilled – Nominated Visa
(subclass 190)
The Skilled – Nominated Visa (subclass 190) is a category for skilled applicants looking
to emigrate to Australia who are sponsored by an Australian State or Territory.
The Skilled – Nominated (Provisional) Visa
(subclass 489)
The Skilled – Nominated (Provisional) Visa (subclass 489) is a temporary visa for skilled
migrants to live and work in a regional area of Australia through sponsorship by an
Australian State or Territory.
The Skilled – Sponsored (Provisional) Visa
(subclass 489)
The Skilled – Sponsored (Provisional) Visa (subclass 489) is a temporary visa for skilled
migrants to live and work in a regional area of Australia through sponsorship from a
relative who lives in a Designated Area of Australia.
The Employer Nomination Scheme (EMS) provides permanent residency if a job has already been secured. Alternatively, this can be applied for if you already hold a temporary working visa, such as the Working Holiday Visa or a Student Visa.
The Regional Skilled Migration Scheme (RSMS) is limited to certain areas of Australia. It allows employers to sponsor skilled migrants for job vacancies. The RSMS visa provides permanent residency.
Labour Agreements enable Australian employers to recruit a specified number of workers from overseas in response to identified skills shortages in the Australian labour market. Employees may come to Australia on either a temporary or permanent basis.

Business Visa Categories
There are 2 pathways for Business Skills entry to Australia:
As a Provisional Visa holder with eligibility for permanent residence after establishing a business in Australia. Business migrants must undergo a 2-stage progression to obtain residency. As such, visa holders are first granted a Business Skills (Provisional) Visa for 4 years and, after establishing the requisite level of business or maintaining their suitable investment, will be eligible to make an application for a Business Skills (Residence) Visa.
Direct Permanent Residence for high calibre business applicants sponsored by a State/Territory government. This is only open to high-calibre business migrants sponsored by a State/Territory government. This category is known as the Business Talent Visa (see below) and leads to permanent residency.
The Business Skills Program is divided into 4 categories:
Business Owner category for owners or part-owners of a business.
Senior Executive category for senior executive employees of major businesses.

Investor stream visa 188b
The investor stream visa grants the ability to work or study in Australia together with access to a subsidized healthcare system and a Commonwealth education program.
An investment of at least AUD 1.5 million is required into a State or Territory’s government bonds. The investment must be held for at least 4 years from the date of its issue in the nominating State or Territory and while the investment may be changed during this period the visa will be cancelled if the funds are withdrawn.
The key requirements include an age restriction of 55 years of age, net assets of at least AUD 2.25 million, and applicants must have a genuine intention to live for at least 2 years out of the 4 in the state or territory in which you have made a designated investment.

ELICOS Sector Student Visa
(subclass 570)
This visa subclasses for international students who want to study English Language
Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) in Australia. Where a student is
undertaking ELICOS as a prerequisite to another course, the student must apply under
the subclass relevant to the principal course.
Schools Sector Student Visa
(subclass 571)
This visa subclass is designed for international students applying to study in Australia
and whose main course of study is a primary school course, a secondary school course,
including junior and senior secondary, or an approved secondary school exchange
program.
Vocational Education and Training Sector Student Visa
(subclass 572)
This visa subclass is designed for international students applying to study in Australia
and whose main course of study is for Certificate I, II, III, and IV, Diploma or Advanced
Diploma.
Higher Education Sector Student Visa

This visa subclass is designed for international students applying to study in Australia

This visa subclass is designed for international students who are sponsored by AusAID
or Defence to study a full-time course of any type in Australia.
Student Guardian Visa

This visa subclass is designed for the legal custodian or relative of a Study Visa holder
in Australia to accompany the visa holder as a student guardian (provided they are
under 18 years of age).
